Following the news that over 60 Disney, Star Wars, and Marvel LEGO sets would soon be permanently retiring, a list of over 30 more LEGO sets themed to Universal franchises such as Wicked, Harry Potter, Minions, and more have also announced their immanent retirement.

Universal Retiring LEGO Sets
Harry Potter
Hogwarts Icons Collector’s Edition – $299.99

This tall set intended for ages 18+ includes a pile of iconic Harry Potter props, including Harry’s wand, books, Harry’s glasses, potion bottles, a customizable House scarf, a Golden Snitch, a Hogwarts letter, a chocolate frog, Hedwig, and more. It has a total of 3010 pieces. The set measures 18 inches tall, 20 inches wide, and 18 inches deep. There are also three golden minifigures of Albus Dumbledore, Minerva McGonagall, and Rubeus Hagrid.
Hogwarts Express Train Set with Hogsmeade Station – $129.99

This set for ages 8+ includes 1074 pieces and 8 minifigures: Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Draco Malfoy, the Trolly Witch, the Train Conductor, Rubeus Hagrid, and Lee Jordan. The station has a ticket office, Owl Post area, restroom, and the platform.

The train itself includes the engine, a coal car, and two passenger carriages. There are also pieces of track for the train to sit on when completed.
Dobby the House-Elf – $34.99

This 3D model of Dobby includes a total of 403 pieces and is intended for ages 8+. Dobby’s head, ears, arms, and fingers are all posable. It comes with a buildable stand with a nameplate for display, as well as accessories of Tom Riddle’s diary and Aunt Petunia’s pudding cake.
Buckbeak – $59.99

Next, the 3D model of Buckbeak the Hippogriff has 723 pieces intended for ages 9+. The magical creature has posable wings and legs, so he can stand or bow down. Also included are some pumpkins and grass to represent Hagrid’s garden.
Hogwarts Castle: Potions Class – $39.99

Intended for ages 8+, this 397-piece model depicts a Potions class at Hogwarts set inside the dungeon classroom of Severus Snape. The classroom opens up for easy access to the interior.

Props included with the set include a cauldron and a selection of potion ingredients. There are four minifigures: Hermione Granger, Severus Snape, Pansy Parkinson, and Seamus Finnigan. This set also includes 2 of 14 random Hogwarts portraits.
Ollivanders & Madam Malkin’s Robes – $89.99

Also intended for ages 8+, this set of 744 pieces includes both Ollivanders wand shop and Madam Malkin’s Robes from Diagon Alley. Ollivanders includes 26 unique wands, a sliding ladder, and a version of Harry’s wand box. Madam Malkin’s includes hats, robes, and signage for various shops.

The set has a total of 6 minifigures, including Ollivander himself, Harry Potter, Madame Malkin, a witch selling flowers, Padma Patil, an unnamed wizard, and some extra minifigure-sized store mannequins.
Mandrake – $69.99


This set is modeled like the iconic magical screaming Mandrake plant. It has 579 pieces and is intended for ages 10+. The leaves of the plant are adjustable, and the Mandrake’s mouth will open or close to make it look like it’s screaming. It can be placed inside the pot for display or fully removed.
Hagrid’s Hut: An Unexpected Visit – $74.99

Another set for ages 8+, this version of Hagrid’s Hut has 896 pieces and is based on Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. The hut building has a removable roof and sliding walls to make it easy to play inside the space.

There are minifigures of Hagrid, Harry, Ron, Hermione, Draco, and Fang the dog. There is a small egg where baby dragon Norbert is in the process of hatching and a doghouse for Fang. This set also comes with 2 of 14 collectible Hogwarts portraits.
Hogwarts Castle Boathouse – $37.99

All of the Hogwarts Castle sets can be combined to create a larger scene. This 350-piece model for ages 8+ depicts the scene when Harry and his classmates arrive at Hogwarts via boats. The building has a space inside for fitting a single boat, though two boats are included. There are a total of five minifigures, including Professor McGonagall, Harry, Hermione, Neville Longbottom, and Dean Thomas. See if you can spot Trevor the toad hiding by the rocks as well.
This set comes with 1 of the random 14 Hogwarts portraits.
Hogwarts Castle: Dueling Club – $24.99

Based on the dueling club scene from the second film, this 158-piece set includes minifigures of Harry, Draco, Severus Snape, and Gilderoy Lockhart. There is a dueling platform with steps on either side to make one opponent fall, as well as a fireplace and snake animal figure. Another 1 of the 14 random Hogwarts Portraits is included with the set.
Hogwarts Castle Owlery – $44.99

As with most of the Hogwarts Castle sets, this one is intended for ages 8+. It has a total of 364 pieces and depicts the tall Owlery tower.

In addition to the owl statue inside the tower, the set has 5 differently-colored owl figures, including Ron’s owl, Pigwidgeon. The three minifigures include Cho Chang, Argus Filch, and Harry Potter. It comes with 1 of the 14 collectible Hogwarts portraits.
Jurassic World & Camp Cretaceous
Dinosaur Fossils: T. rex Skull – $39.99

Ready for ages 9+, this 577-piece set depicts a T-rex skull on display alongside a fossilized footprint. The skull has a movable jaw, and the components of the display can be placed in different configurations. It comes with a museum-style plaque with the Jurassic World logo.
Dinosaur Missions: Allosaurus Transport Truck – $89.99


For ages 8+, this 588-piece transport truck is in the process of transporting an Allosaurus. However, the cage and walls can be popped open using a lever, allowing it to escape. The four minifigures include Kenji, Darius, Yaz, and a guard from Camp Cretaceous.
Baby Bumpy: Ankylosaurus


Bumpy is a baby Ankylosaurus made of 358 pieces for ages 7+. He has movable joints on his head, jaw, and tail, while his legs are all articulated. It comes with four veggie props for Bumpy to have a snack.
Baby Dinosaur Rescue Center – $39.99

This smaller set is available with 139 pieces for ages 4+. Starter Bricks for easy assembly are included for both the vehicle and the research area. There are two minifigures of Darius and Sammy, plus 5 toy dinosaur figures of a Velociraptor, Pteranodon, and 3 baby dinos. There are props of food and bottles for feeding the dinosaurs.
Dinosaur Missions: Stegosaurus Discovery – $64.99

Another Camp Jurassic set has 430 pieces for ages 6+. This one depicts Sammy and Ben (who both come as minifigures) tracking a Stegosaurus and small Velociraptor. They have an off-road vehicle, which is red and comes with a removable cab roof, movable bed, and attachable trailer. There is also a lookout post in a tree.
Super Mario & Donkey Kong
The Mighty Bowser – $269.99


This massive set of Bowser from the Super Mario games is intended for ages 18+, as it has 2807 pieces and measures over 12.5 inches tall. Bowser can move his head, mouth, arms, hands, legs, and tail. You can launch the included fireballs from Bowser’s mouth. The set comes with a display stand, two towers, and a hidden POW Block.
Goombas’ Playground – $14.99

This smaller set for ages 7+ has 173 pieces. There are three Goomba figures, which have different facial expressions and can be stacked on each other to make a Goomba tower. A lever on the side of the tree trunk will make a Goomba pop out. There is also a seesaw toy made of blocks meant to look like a log.
Soda Jungle Maker Set -$54.99

For ages 7+, this set with 598 pieces has plenty of components to make a unique Mario challenge. There are three figures made from Lego blocks: a pink Shy Guy, a Piranha Plant, and a Wiggler.

Some of the many added details include a customization machine with ? Blocks, a yellow speed challenge Special Pipe, a raft, and poison signs.
Mario Kart – Donkey Kong & DK Jumbo – $34.99

Based on the Mario Kart games, this 387-piece set for ages 8+ has a buildable Donkey Kong figure and a DK Jumbo car toy. The car will launch shells at the included target, and it also comes with a Banana.
The Bowser Express Train – $119.99

Children aged 9+ can grab The Bowser Express Train, which has a total of 1392 pieces. There is a spinning platform on the locomotive of the train, while the cannon wagon has a spring-loaded shooter. It comes with two different train stations, a Super Star Block, and a ? Block.

The 6 included buildable figures are a Hammer Bro, Boom Boom, 2 Goombas with different hats, and 2 Para-Biddybud in pink and green.
King Boo’s Haunted Mansion – $74.99

Intended for ages 8+, this set with 932 pieces has King Boo lurking inside his creepy haunted mansion. The set includes buildable figures of King Boo, a Yellow Baby Yoshi, a Dry Bones, and a Boo.

Like many of the previous LEGO buildings, the mansion walls fold out for easy access to the interior. The sofa on the side has a levitating effect. Rewards are hidden inside Coin, Chest, and Key Blocks.
Battle with Roy at Peach’s Castle – $64.99

Children ages 7+ can use this 738-piece set to depict a battle with Roy at Peach’s Castle. The walls of the castle are designed to be destroyed and easily rebuilt during battle. There are 3 included buildable characters: Roy, a Chain Chomp, and Toad.

The walls of the castle open out for easy interior access. There is a catapult for attacking Roy and a rotating throne in the center.
Minions & Despicable Me
Brick-Built Gru and Minions – $54.99

This 3D model of Gru and a few Minions has 839 pieces for ages 9+. Gru has jointed arms, hands, and fingers so he can be placed in different poses. The five Minions at his feet include Jerry, Dave, Beedoo, Mel, and Kevin. The Minions have moving heads, arms to hold accessories, and interchangeable eyes. The platform has a hand-rotated gear to make Gru and the Minions spin as they celebrate.
Minions and Banana Car – $24.99

Ages 6+ can play with this 136-piece Minions set that includes figures of Mel, AVL Tim, Mega Minion Dave, and Pit Crew Ron. There is a banana-shaped car vehicle with a driver’s seat and removable engine. The Minions can also participate in weight lifting, painting, diaper changing, and spying with various props.
Minions and Gru’s Family Mansion – $99.99

Intended for ages 8+, this set with 868 pieces is based on Gru’s Family Mansion, as seen in Despicable Me 4. The set includes figures of Gru, Lucy, Margo, Edith, Agnes, Gru Jr., Mel, Jerry, and Tim.

Outside, there is a tree house and a party space for the Minions to celebrate. Inside the Mansion, there are rooms with the red couch, fireplace, laboratory, and a rocket bed.
Minions’ Music Party Bus – $39.99

With 379 pieces for ages 7+, this set has the Minions celebrating inside their musical party bus. The bus can be converted between standard vehicle form and open form with the walls and roof slid apart. There is a dance floor, DJ station, hot tub, driver’s seat, and a bar on the roof. The four included Minion figures are Phil, Mel, Dave, and Mega Minion Gus.
Wicked
Glinda & Elphaba’s Dormitory – $69.99

Moving into a few LEGO sets inspired by Wicked, this is Glinda and Elphaba’s dormitory room at Shiz University. There are 2 included mini dolls of Elphaba and Glinda, and they both have day and night outfits. An included QR code will play the music from the film.

When closed up, the room becomes Glinda’s lockable trunk. The trunk is topped with a green bottle for Elphaba and a flower for Glinda. The set has 740 pieces for ages 8+.
Glinda, Elphaba & Nessarose at Shiz University – $29.99

The second Wicked LEGO set is intended for ages 7+ and has 304 pieces. The model is based on the scene when Glinda arrives at Shiz University to meet Elphaba and Nessarose for the first time. Mini dolls of all three characters are included.

The model of the university has the entrance hall, a spell room, and a balcony. Glinda travels with boxes of her clothing items in her pink boat.
Gabby’s Dollhouse
Gabby’s Party Room – $49.99

Ready for ages 4+, this LEGO set has 252 pieces with a model in each bag and a large Starter Brick for younger builders. Daniel James ‘DJ’ Catnip is seen playing music from his pink bus, while the room itself has musical instruments, a disco ball, and a rotatable dance floor. Also included are a cake for Gabby, a catapult game, and a chill-out zone with snacks.
Gabby’s Kitty Care Ear – $39.99

Like the other Gabby set, this LEGO has 165 pieces intended for ages 4+ with a self-contained build in every bag and a large Starter Brick. The included figures of Gabby, Pandy Paws, Baby Me-Owl, and Baby Kittycorn work together to help care for the Baby Cupcakes. There is a cupcake-tin stroller, a rolling train vehicle, and a slide.
Crafting with Baby Box – $14.99

One more set for ages 4+ has 60 pieces and a large Starter Brick. This set depicts Gabby taking a crafting class with Baby Box, both of whom are included as figures. The cat-eared wall is covered in kitty-themed art. Additional props include a paintbrush, paint, scissors, a spray can, and a model of Gabby’s dollhouse.
