Multiple trash cans in EPCOT have seemingly been updated, with the classic gold medallions for World Showcase replaced with flat stickers across the park.
World Showcase Trash Cans Get Stickers
At first glance, these look like the usual cans around World Showcase, but closer inspection reveals that the bronze World Showcase medallion is actually a flat sticker.

You can see the flat profile of the sticker in the above images (as well as our reporter’s reflection in the sticker’s 2D surface).

For reference, the trash cans normally have a three-dimensional, sculpted World Showcase medallion attached to the front, as seen in the above images.

We first spotted this new version of the World Showcase trash cans outside Port of Entry Shop, near the International Food & Wine Festival Hawaii booth.
At the time, we thought it might just be one or two trash cans that were being repaired or refurbished. However, we found a second one outside the Mexico Pavilion pyramid, right next to the stairs.

We found even more trash cans with the same flat stickers in the China, Germany, Italy, and United Kingdom Pavilions. They are scattered between older trash cans with the actual medallions, so they can be hard to tell apart unless you look at them closely.
We don’t know if this is a temporary or permanent change to the World Showcase trash cans, as trash cans at EPCOT have had multiple makeovers lately. Test Track, Remy, and Mickey Mouse cans have recently joined the fleet, plus several trash cans in World Showcase have recently been refurbished. However, we did find it odd that the stickers were scattered across World Showcase if this is expected to be a temporary change.
