The fourth animated feature adaptation of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid book series is coming to Disney+ on December 5. Diary of a Wimpy Kid : The Last Straw focuses on Greg Heffley’s strained relationship with his dad and vows to take viewers “where no wimpy kid has gone before.”

In the trailer, Greg continually finds himself at odds with his dad’s outsized expectations. As pressure builds to turn his act around after a series of hilarious near disasters, Greg’s dad presents him with an ultimatum—and a trip to wilderness camp—that just might challenge Greg’s wimpy ways for good.

The animated family misadventure is directed by Matt Danner (Legend of the Three Caballeros) and written and produced by award-winning series creator Jeff Kinney.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw follows Diary of a Wimpy Kid (2021), Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules (2022), and Diary of a Wimpy Kid Christmas: Cabin Fever (2023), all released to Disney+.
