Disney World released a new holiday zombie mug at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto Tiki Bar, and we tried the drink that comes with it: Mistletoe Mishap. This drink really is a mishap, thanks to the ghost pepper tequila.
Holiday Zombie Mug with Beverage – $80
Limit two (2) per person, per transaction. Available while supplies last.

As previously announced, the Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto Tiki Bar Holiday Zombie Mug is a new version of Trader Sam’s zombie tiki mug, similar to the green 5th edition mug.

The zombie head wears a red Santa hat with stitches and holly. It has a candy cane spiked through its forehead and red stitches over its eyes and mouth.

When we got to the Polynesian Resort, we followed the signs in the lobby to the outdoor area of the resort. Cast Members distribute wristbands for guests hoping to purchase the mug. We got ours at Tiki Terrace.

The mug comes with the Mistletoe Mishap, either with alcohol or without.

Ghost Reposado Tequila, DOLE Pineapple Juice, Coconut Milk, and Lemon (Contains Alcohol)

The tequila is the most prominent flavor for the alcoholic version of this drink. The ghost pepper heat is omnipresent and unavoidable, so if you cannot handle the heat this is not the drink for you. The pineapple juice is overshadowed by the lemon. We can only suspect that the coconut milk is cutting some of the heat, but it’s not noticeable.

You absolutely must mix this drink; otherwise you’ll burn the back of your throat. Even then, this is certainly a sip and savor over a chug and run. It is very strong and very hot.
Rating out of 7: 2

When you remove the spicy tequila, you get a very delicious POG juice drink. The pineapple juice is the strongest flavor now that the alcohol is gone.

The coconut milk and lemon aren’t very noticeable, but they complement the pineapple juice perfectly.

Overall, we think another tequila would be a better option for this. Unfortunately, the drink really is a mishap because of the Ghost Reposado Tequila.
The Disneyland Resort version of the mug will be available at Disneyland Hotel starting on Friday, November 21. That mug has golden thread instead of red.
