Disney shared a behind-the-scenes video featuring the cast of The Emperor’s New Groove recording their lines over 25 years ago.
The Emperor’s New Groove 25th Anniversary
The video sees Eartha Kitt, John Goodman, Patrick Warburton, and David Spade bring into Yzma, Pacha, Kronk, and Kuzco to life in the recording booth.
December 15, 2025 marks 25 years since the release of The Emperor’s New Groove. Though it underperformed at the box office, it’s gained a cult following among Disney fans in the years since. It did spawn a direct-to-video sequel, Kronk’s New Groove, and the TV series The Emperor’s New School.
The film follows Kuzco, a selfish emperor, who turns into a llama thanks to this advisor, Yzma. They team up with Pacha, a kind peasant, to get Kuzco’s throne back in his hands. He learns about humility and friendship along the way.

Disney has also honored the 25th anniversary with the release of a limited edition Yzma doll, available at Disney Parks and online from DisneyStore.com.
