The totem poles that sat on the banks of Rivers of America in Magic Kingdom are now gone as the area is transformed into a Cars expansion.

The totem poles that sat on the banks of Rivers of America in Magic Kingdom are now gone as the area is transformed into a Cars expansion.

The trio of totem poles were near Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. They faced the river so were mostly visible to guests on Liberty Square Riverboat. As of Friday, December 5, the poles are gone.

The totem poles that sat on the banks of Rivers of America in Magic Kingdom are now gone as the area is transformed into a Cars expansion.

Around their former location are markers, pipes, and cones as crew members prepare to construct new buildings and landscaping details.

The river, riverboat, and Tom Sawyer Island closed permanently this summer. They will be replaced by a Cars expansion to Frontierland and a Disney Villains Land. Check out a recent aerial construction update.
