X user bioreconstruct recently took a flight over Universal Orlando to check out some of the ongoing developments across the resort.
Universal Studios is undergoing some extensive construction work on the site of the former Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit coaster. In the above photo, taken from the back of the park, just beyond the New York area and park limits, you can see the full scope of work stretching all the way up to the waterway by CityWalk.

A closer look at the CityWalk adjacent area of construction shows a variety of ongoing utility work and some early foundation work, all presumably related to a forthcoming attraction or structure taking the space once occupied by Rip Ride Rockit.

This view of the open walkway running alongside the construction area next to the Hard Rock Cafe may give you a better sense of the scale of the ongoing work.

Further into the Studios area, we can see an auger setup for foundation work on the new structure. The auger has at times been visible from within the park, particularly near the former entrance to Rip Ride Rockit.

Further back into the construction area, past Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon and adjacent to the Mummy, we can see work on what appears to be a service building for a coaster. A larger depression in the ground can be seen with a number of workers in these photos. Notably, spurs for coaster tracks have been erected in this gap.

Universal Orlando Teases Fast & Furious Attraction

A recent post on Universal Orlando Resort’s official X account teases a new Fast & Furious attraction, which is possibly this new coaster currently under construction. An announcement is coming on January 20, 2026.
