Encanto Ride Building Continues to Grow Overnight at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

The Encanto ride building at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is getting bigger day by day. Crews are using a tower crane installed back in September to construct the building’s framework.

Encanto Ride Building Progress

Crews are using a tower crane installed back in September to construct the building's framework.

Since our last update from the ground, it looks like the building framework has about doubled in size. Most of the construction takes place overnight and in the early morning. For now, it’s just criss-crossing steel beams, but once the frame is done, walls will be added.

In the photo above, you can see the crane actively lowering something above the steel structure.

It’s multiple stories tall, towering over the construction walls and vehicles. There are large dirt piles in the area following excavation for the building’s foundation.

An aerial view gives a better idea of the scale of the project.

People walk towards a vibrant, tropical house with colorful flowers and lush greenery in a picturesque setting, reminiscent of an enchanting attraction you might find at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

The Encanto ride will be part of a new Tropical Americas land, replacing DinoLand U.S.A. The final phase of DinoLand’s closure will be in February, when DINOSAUR and Restaurantosaurus close.

Though the Encanto ride is a brand-new attraction, DINOSAUR will be reimagined into an Indiana Jones ride. A new carousel is also under construction and there will be a playground. Tropical Americas is scheduled to open in 2027.
