Disney has promoted Jimmy Zasowski to president of Platform Distribution for Disney Entertainment and ESPN. He was previously the executive VP of Platform Distribution Strategy.

Jimmy Zasowski Promoted

In recent announcements online, Disney announced the promotion of Jimmy Zasowski to president of Platform Distribution for Disney Entertainment and ESPN. Zasowski joined the company in 2009 and previously held the position of executive VP of Platform Distribution Strategy.

He will be leading the monetization and distribution for Disney’s streaming platforms, like Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN, as well as TV channels, including ABC. Zasowski will report to ESPN chairman Jimmy Pitaro and Disney Entertainment co-chairmen Alan Bergman and Dana Walden.

A joint statement released by Pitaro, Bergman, and Walden described Zasowki’s promotion:

“Jimmy is a skilled strategist, excellent dealmaker, and a thoughtful, collaborative leader who will advance the company’s distribution efforts to the next level. We have full confidence in his ability to lead this global organization, build on the strength of the team, and drive results as consumer viewing habits and the media landscape continue to evolve.”

Zasowski said that he was honored by the opportunity and looks forward to “building upon the successful partnerships that we have across the globe and further expanding access to Disney’s best-in-class content in this dynamic marketplace.”

It was also announced that Sean Breen, the current executive VP of platform distribution sales for all global accounts and the North American business, will expand his role to include the EMEA, LATAM, and APAC regions moving forward.
