Review: Taiyaki from Japan Pavilion in EPCOT

Taiyaki, the popular Japanese fish-shaped street food, has arrived in EPCOT’s Japan Pavilion. Is this sweet snack worth a trip around the World Showcase?

Taiyaki – $7.73

Taiyaki is a crispy waffle usually filled with anko (sweet bean paste). Sometimes taiyaki can be soggy, but this one was super crunchy and had a good texture.

However, it’s nothing fancy, just regular taiyaki, and a tiny one at that. Normally, taiyaki would cost around $2 in Japan, so the nearly $8 price for this is hard to justify and lowers our score.

We found the taiyaki at Kabuki Cafe in the Japan Pavilion in EPCOT’s World Showcase.
