Stuck Stardust Racers Trains Seen Being Pulled by Crane in Aerial Photos

Aerial photographer bioreconstruct has shared some photos of how Epic Universe has to recover Stardust Racers trains stuck on the track: with a crane.

Stardust Racers Trains Stuck in Valley

Gusty winds blew through the Orlando area yesterday, January 18, and Stardust Racers was hit with enough force that both trains became stuck in a valley after the second launch spot. Fortunately, the trains were both empty; team members were testing the trains without guests in hopes of reopening after weather shut it down.

X user ElToroRyan caught video of the incident from the Hiccup’s Wing Gliders queue:

The ride has remained closed through today, when bioreconstruct caught these aerial photos of the train retrieval effort:

Rigging at front of both trains, to hold them in place.

The orange cabling attached to the front of each train is keeping them secured at the spot in the track.

A pair of trains were hit with strong wind yesterday, and didn’t crest the second hill of the attraction. A device is currently being secured at back of the train on the green track.

From a higher shot, we see a crane has been parked outside of the covered queue area in an empty development plot. The crane will ultimately help pull the trains up and out of the valley.

We don’t know how long the train recovery efforts will take or when Stardust Racers will reopen to guests.
