Typhoon Lagoon Reopening Friday Before Another 3-Day Closure

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park is currently closed for a three-day stretch. Though it’s scheduled to reopen on Friday, it will close again for another three days.

Typhoon Lagoon Closure

Typhoon Lagoon frequently closes during the winter due to cold temperatures. It has already closed multiple times this year. It was open on January 26, but closed from January 27 – 29. Operating hours are posted for Friday, January 30 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The park is scheduled to close again, however, from January 31 through February 2. Though it’s currently scheduled to reopen on February 3, this could change depending on the weather forecast.

Orange County and Osceola County, where Walt Disney World is located, have been under cold weather advisories with overnight temperatures sometimes dropping below freezing.

Typhoon Lagoon Scheduled Refurbishment

Typhoon Lagoon will close for refurbishment after February 14 and Blizzard Beach will reopen on February 15. Both parks will then be open simultaneously from May 26 through September 8, coinciding with Cool Kids’ Summer offerings. During these dates, guests staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel can enjoy free admission to a water park on their check-in day. Read about more hotel deals and discounts.
