Pin Tuesday is a big event for pin traders and collectors alike at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts. But the same is true online at the Disney Store, where pin drops don’t always go as smoothly.
Disney Store Pin Drops

Disney wants the online pin-buying experience to be better for shoppers, which is why there are new safeguards and other implementations in place to make it a fairer experience. These include monitoring and account-based requirements for pin-drop days that begin at 8 a.m. PST on Tuesdays.

For example, you may have seen on the pins page that there is a notice at the top indicating that you must be logged in to purchase new drops.
Although the website has a queue system in place, users report problems with getting the queue to populate. One Redditor reported queueing up at 7:40 a.m. for a pin drop only to end up in spot 3975 by 8 a.m. Others mention being able to get the pin they wanted even through the queue, but the checkout button does not work after adding the items to their cart.
Redditors suspect bots were buying out the pins (likely to resell) before humans could even process an order. Through the implementation of these new protections, hopefully, it will prevent unfair buying practices at online drops in the future.
