On a recent visit to Disneyland, we noticed some small touches being added to the exterior of Rise of the Resistance.

Paintwork and Added Scrim at Rise of the Resistance

We have been keeping tabs on the ongoing refurbishment work taking place at Rise of the Resistance in Disneyland.

During our latest visit, we noticed some additional scrim and active work being conducted on the upper parts of scaffolding surrounding the turret featured at the ride’s entrance.

Disney has not formally announced the nature of the changes coming to the ride, including whether or not work is being done on the ride’s interior or functionality, in addition to exterior exit and queue areas.

Over near the ride’s exit pathway, we also spotted some changes to the gates that close off the exit area. Earlier this week, we saw a crew member painting the gates (pictured above). By Tuesday, they appeared to be finished.

They first received a darker coat of gray paint and then weathering details. White logos and “Ground Crew Only” were then added. The design is ultimately not very different from how the gates looked before.

While it seems likely that the ongoing work is intended as general upkeep and maintenance, it’s possible that some changes may be made in light of the timeline change affecting the setting at Galaxy’s Edge.

Other changes with regards to the timeline shift will officially go into effect on April 29. The shift has not been announced for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
