Universal has officially announced the returning stars and release date for the newest entry in The Mummy franchise.
New ‘Mummy 4’ Movie Release Date and Returning Stars

It was announced today on Deadline that the newest entry to Universal’s The Mummy franchise will release in theaters on May 19, 2028. Oscar-winners Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz will return for this movie. Both actors starred in the first two Mummy movies, 1999’s The Mummy and 2001’s The Mummy Returns, while Fraser also starred in 2008’s The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.
The Radio Silence-directed movie was first reported to be in development in November, using a screenplay written by David Coggeshall (The Family Plan, Orphan: First Kill). The story has still not been revealed. Radio Silence’s Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are directing the film, with Sean Daniel returning to produce. Daniel previously produced the first three Mummy movies.
Paul Neinstein, William Sherak, and James Vanderbilt are producing the new Mummy film through Project X Entertainment. Brendan Fraser, Hivemind’s Jason F. Brown, and Denis Stewart are executive producers. Director of Production Development Jacqueline Garell and Universal EVP Production Development Jay Polidoro are overseeing the production for the studio.
