Disney-owned Hulu has ordered a pilot for a reboot of The X-Files from Black Panther director Ryan Coogler.
The X-Files Reboot

According to Variety, Danielle Deadwyler is attached to play one of the two lead roles. The other role has not been cast. Here’s the logline:
Two highly decorated but vastly different FBI agents form an unlikely bond when they are assigned to a long-shuttered division devoted to cases involving unexplained phenomena.
Coogler will write, direct, and executive produce the pilot under his Proximity Media production company. His Proximity co-founders Sev Ohanian and Zinzi Coogler will also executive produce, and Proximity’s Simone Harris will co-executive produce. Jennifer Yale will serve as showrunner and executive producer. Original creator of The X-Files Chris Carter will also executive produce.
The pilot will be created by Disney’s Onyx Collective and 20th Television.
The original series ran from 1993 to 2002. It stared David Duchovny as Fox Mulder and Gillian Anderson as Dana Scully, FBI Special Agents investigating the mysterious and paranormal “X-Files.” Originally produced by Fox, a two-season revival aired in 20116 and 2018, with Carter, Anderson, and Duchovny all returning. There was also a 1998 The X-Files film and the 2008 The X-Files: I Want to Believe.
Neither Duchovny or Anderson are attached to the Hulu pilot.
