Walt Disney World Guest Files Lawsuit For Injury at Disney Springs Bar

The complaint alleges that Disney was negligent regarding upkeep around the bar area, leading to a dangerous fall and, consequently, a broken leg.

A new complaint was filed in Orange County, Florida, in which the plaintiff is suing Walt Disney Parks and Resorts U.S., Inc. for damages exceeding $50,000.

The complaint targets Disney as the owner and operator of the premises located at 1486 Buena Vista Drive in Orlando, Florida — specifically, the address occupied by the City Works Eatery and Pour House restaurant located near the western edge of the shopping district.

According to the filing, on November 27, 2024, the plaintiff was crossing a “designated crossing area” in their wheelchair when one of their wheels became stuck in a hole in the asphalt, causing a fall from the wheelchair, leading to two broken bones in their left leg.

The complainant contends that this condition constituted an unreasonably dangerous hazard on the property and, as such, constituted negligence on Disney’s part. The sole count brought forward asserts premises liability, or that Disney allegedly failed to inspect, repair, or warn guests of the hazardous condition until it could be resolved.

As a result of this alleged negligence, the plaintiff claims extensive damages, including permanent bodily injury, pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, aggravation of a preexisting condition, medical expenses, lost wages, diminished earning capacity, and ongoing future losses — all of which sum the alleged damages in excess of $50,000.

The complaint demands a trial and seeks judgment for damages against the defendant.

Walt Disney World recently responded to a similar case in which a woman filed a complaint for $50,000 in damages after tripping on the trolley tracks at Magic Kingdom.
