Disney’s Facility Asset Management team has filed a permit for construction at The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The permit simply calls for “General Construction,” contracting MLC Theming for the work. Because it was filed by Facility Asset Management, not Walt Disney Imagineering, we expect the construction to be general refurbishment work with no major changes to the attraction’s experience or theming.
Last year, Disney contracted MLC Theming for work near Space Mountain. They were also contracted for work on The Haunted Mansion and adjacent Mike Fink Keel Boats dock. Their specializations include “scenic painting and aging of structures, fabricating facades, carving rock work, and more.”
If significant refurbishment work is required, Tower of Terror could potentially close temporarily, but no closure has been announced.
