The original Journey Into Imagination is far from forgotten, as Dreamfinder and his purple pal Figment have arrived on new shirt designs inspired by the retro ride at EPCOT in Walt Disney World.

Dreamfinder Shirt – $32.99

The Dreamfinder T-shirt is tan with a cartoon-style illustration of Dreamfinder reaching out from beyond a navy oval frame accented with brown scrollwork. Sparks of imagination (from which he created Figment) surround his outstretched hand.

The silhouette of the Dream Machine is next to him with “1983” across the balloon. “Dreamfinder” is written in a steampunk font across a banner at the bottom. Behind him, the words “Journey Into Imagination” and “Epcot Center” are worked into the frame. The back is plain.

Retro Figment Shirt – $32.99

Also retro but of a different era, this black Figment T-shirt is inspired by the laser light show in the performing arts scene of the original Journey Into Imagination attraction. Two outlines of the dragon in blue float above “Figment” in a vaporwave font filled with black and turquoise and outlined in pink.

Pink lines form a gridded background and Tetris block shapes. A silhouetted mountain range is in the background. The back is plain.

This shirt design is similar to another vintage-inspired EPCOT shirt we spotted a few days ago, that one featuring Spaceship Earth. We found all these shirts in Creations Shop.

The Original Version of Journey Into Imagination

The Journey Into Imagination attraction has gone through many changes since it opened at EPCOT on March 5, 1983. The original storyline featured Dreamfinder, an inventor whose Dream Machine allows him to collect sparks of imagination itself, from which he creates Figment. The legendary Sherman Brothers’ song “One Little Spark” was created just for this attraction.
