Disney is moving forward with Stepsisters, a live-action Cinderella spin-off about the princess’s evil stepsisters, Anastasia and Drizella.

Akiva Schaffer will direct. Dan Gregor and Doug Mand are rewriting a script by Michael Montemayor. Schaffer, Gregor, and Mand crafted Disney’s 2022 live-action Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers film.
Ali Bell is producing via Party Over Here. Disney Live Action EVP Jessica Virtue will oversee with creative executive Cady Stark.
The first time we heard about a stepsisters spin-off was back in 2021. Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo were attached to write a musical script. We don’t know if the new script will also be a musical or if it will be connected to Disney’s 2015 live-action Cinderella.
