‘The Lion King’ Ride Goes Vertical at Disneyland Paris

With World of Frozen previews underway, guests can get a new look at construction of The Lion King land at Disneyland Paris. The land will be part of Disney Adventure World, currently Walt Disney Studios Park. The park will be renamed when World of Frozen officially opens next week.

DLP Works, which tracks construction at Disneyland Paris, shared photos from the new vantage point. Vertical construction has officially begun, including on the show building for the main attraction, a log flume ride similar to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Splash Mountain.

Excavated basins in the area are now lined with waterproof membranes. There are large soil storage areas on either side of the construction site. The construction base camp with modular prefabs is visible in the back.

The ride will be topped with Pride Rock and take guests through Simba’s story. According to a construction permit, its peak elevation will be 37 meters (121 feet). The area will also have a retail store and significant landscaping.
