Notably absent from Disney’s round of opening date announcements on Thursday morning was The Magic of Disney Animation at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. But Disney announced an opening date for its neighbor, Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!, indicating the animation experience will reopen later in the summer.

Animation Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! will open on May 26, just in time for Cool Kids’ Summer. That means Animation Courtyard will also reopen on that date or before, so guests can access the new stage show.

The courtyard is being reimagined into The Walt Disney Studios and will have new green spaces. Characters will also appear in the courtyard.

The courtyard including Star Wars: Launch Bay and the Disney Jr. theater closed last fall. The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure remained open.

Launch Bay will be replaced by The Magic of Disney Animation, a new version of an opening day attraction that Launch Bay replaced 11 years ago. Inspired by the Once Upon A Studio short film, The Magic of Disney Animation will include a new Animation Academy experience hosted by Olaf (instead of live artists), six new meet and greets, and a playground will be inspired by Mary Blair’s Alice in Wonderland concept art.

Disney said all the new experiences would reopen this summer.
