Disney+ has renewed the meta Marvel Television series Wonder Man for a second season of superhero meets superstar shenanigans.
‘Wonder Man’ Season 2 Confirmed
The eight-episode first season of Wonder Man has been another critical hit for Marvel Television: it’s certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with a 91% critic score and 87% audience score since it premiered in its entirety on January 27, 2026. Disney obviously took notice, as both Deadline and Variety reported that the meta superhero series had officially been renewed for a second season on Disney+.
The entire core crew behind the series has already been confirmed to return, including stars Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams and Ben Kingsley as Trevor Slattery. Series co-creators Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest are also back, as director and executive producer and showrunner and executive producer, respectively.
Marvel’s ‘Wonder Man’

Wonder Man was introduced to Marvel Comics in 1964 via The Avengers #9, created by legends Stan Lee, Don Heck, and Jack Kirby. The Wonder Man series takes a meta approach to its source material, focusing on actor Simon Williams as he pursues the lead role in an in-universe remake of the titular superhero film. However, Williams himself has energy-based powers (which he doesn’t understand or even want), which draws the attention of the Department of Damage Control due to the Doorman Clause. He teams up with washed-up actor Trevor Slattery, who first appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in 2013’s Iron Man 3, before popping back up in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings in 2021.
Wonder Man is the second show to fall under Marvel’s “Spotlight” banner, the first being Echo. “Spotlight” projects are Marvel shows written to be more accessible and less dependent on extensive MCU backstory, while remaining canonical. All episodes of Wonder Man are available on Disney+.
