Disney is seeking puppeteers to perform as part of The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Festival of the Lion King at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and as Jack Skellington during holiday offerings. This is the first confirmation that the life-size Jack Skellington puppet will return for another year of Halloween and Christmas entertainment.
Puppeteers Casting Call

Performers should be between 5’4″ and 6’3″ with puppeteering experience. They will “use their skills to interact with guests and tell classic Disney tales using a variety of puppeteering techniques and styles, from hand-and-rod, to mechanical, to full-body parade puppets.” They are also required to bring to life walk-around Disney costumed characters. Online submissions are open through April 5.
During the Halloween season, the life-size Jack Skellington puppet appears on the Cinderella Castle stage to introduce and wrap up Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular Fireworks during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom.
When Christmas rolls around, the puppet moves over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to narrate “What’s This? Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Sing-Along” at Disney Jollywood Nights. Both events are after-hours, hard-ticket parties.
The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure and Festival of the Lion King are year-round shows featuring a variety of animal puppets.
