So far, all four other Toy Story movies have been rated “G” for “General Audiences.” But this latest installment will carry the franchise’s first “PG” rating for “Parental Guidance Suggested.”
Toy Story 5 Rating

The Motion Picture Association (MPA) has given Toy Story 5 a “PG” rating. Per the ratings website, films are rated “PG” due to:
Generally, violence is mild in nature. May include pushing and shoving, fist fights or brawls. Violence may be cartoonish, comedic or slapstick, or fantasy-like. If weapons are used, they are usually unrealistic (i.e. laser guns, glowing swords, magical powers etc.). If guns are present, they are used infrequently and, generally, bullet impacts to characters will not be observed on screen. Usually, there are no real details of lasting harm observed on-screen (i.e. no blood, visible wounds, characters dying onscreen).

So far, all of the other Toy Story films have been rated “G.” According to the Film Ratings website, several other Pixar films have also been all “G” rated:
- Cars (1, 2, and 3)
- Ratatouille
- Monsters, Inc.
- Monsters University
- Wall-E
- Finding Nemo
- A Bug’s Life

However, many Pixar films are also rated “PG.” The Incredibles was the first Pixar film to receive such a rating. However, it appears the more serious or darker-themed films tend to carry this rating. Other movies that have been rated “PG” include:
- Inside Out
- Inside Out 2
- Turning Red
- Lightyear
- Up
- Luca
- Elemental
- Soul
- Elio
- The Good Dinosaur
- Brave
- Finding Dory
- Coco
There has not been a Pixar film with a “G” rating since Toy Story 4 in 2019.
