Disney and the Country Music Association are extending their longtime partnership, with Disney set to remain the home of several major CMA events through 2032.
Disney and CMA Extend Partnership Through 2032

The Country Music Association (CMA) and Disney have announced a new six-year extension agreement that will keep the “CMA Awards,” “CMA Fest,” and “CMA Country Christmas” airing across Disney platforms through 2032.
The renewed deal expands on the nearly 20-year relationship between CMA and ABC while also introducing additional streaming opportunities across Disney’s digital platforms.
One of the largest additions included in the agreement is the introduction of live Disney+ simulcasts for the CMA Awards. Beginning with “The 60th Annual CMA Awards” on Wednesday, November 18, 2026, viewers will be able to watch the ceremony live on both ABC and Disney+.
The CMA Awards first launched in 1967 and remain the longest-running annual music awards program on broadcast television. The awards ceremony officially joined ABC’s lineup in 2006.
Sarah Trahern, CMA Chief Executive Officer, described the extension as an important step forward for the organization and the genre as a whole:
“For two decades, Disney has been CMA’s partner in celebrating excellence in Country Music and bringing its artists and storytelling to audiences around the world,” Trahern said. “Extending our collaboration with Disney and expanding the show to livestream on Disney+ marks an exciting next step for CMA, allowing us to reach new audiences while continuing our role in elevating and shaping the genre.”
Debra O’Connell, chairman of Disney Entertainment Television, also celebrated the continued partnership and the expanded reach made possible through Disney+. She said, “Disney has long been the home for the very best in live entertainment and now, with the addition of Disney+, we are expanding the show’s reach like never before.”
The extension continues Disney’s growing push into live event programming across ABC, Disney+, and its broader entertainment platforms.
