Guests riding the Disneyland Resort tram may notice a small but fun surprise along the route for May the Fourth. The Tram Team added a subtle nod to Star Wars by placing Grogu among the desert landscaping. After all, wherever you go, he goes!
Grogu Along the Tram Route
Grogu is tucked into a patch of cacti along the tram path, peeking out from behind the greenery as guests make their way toward the Disneyland Esplanade. The small figure blends in with the natural setting, making it an easy-to-miss detail unless you’re keeping a close watch.
In years past, the Tram Team has created more elaborate May the Fourth displays, but this year’s addition is a quieter tribute. The placement feels fitting, with Grogu appearing to hide out among the plants – almost like he’s keeping a low profile on the deserts of Tatooine.
The character has become a fan favorite thanks to The Mandalorian, and will soon return to the big screen in The Mandalorian and Grogu, set to release on May 22.
While this display is small, it’s another example of the attention to detail and storytelling hiding around every corner at the Disney parks… a reminder that even the smallest details can bring a little extra magic to your day. This is the way!
If you’re celebrating May the Fourth, be sure to check out some of the other new offerings, including a new bantha sipper at Walt Disney World, the Bounty Hunter Wishables Shimmer plush, and the full lineup of 2026 May the Fourth merchandise.
Notice any other curated displays on your tram ride? That’s thanks to longtime Disneyland Cast Member Bill, a tram operator who enjoys creating unique seasonal scenes along the route for guests to enjoy.
