The Art of Pixar Gallery Featuring Toy Story 5

Guests can find the gallery on the second-floor atrium of Pixar Place Hotel. The event showcases drawings, paintings, sculptures and behind-the-scenes footage from the visual development process of the film.

A mural takes up one wall, depicting Jessie, Bullseye, and Smarty Pants standing on the back of a horse. Jessie holds on to the horse’s mane. Smarty Pants, voiced by Conan O’Brien, is a potty training toy, shaped like a toilet paper roll with large eyes and a small mouth.

In a display case is a maquette of Blaze, a major new character in the franchise. This is 3D cast urethane resin from oil based clay. Blaze is voiced by actress Mykal-Michelle Harris.
Blaze and her family live in the house that once belonged to Emily (Jessie’s original owner in Toy Story 2). This forces Jessie to face the trauma of being abandoned.

A television screen runs through storyboards of movie scenes. This consists of sketches representing different shots and motions. One shows Woody holding onto his stomach, and another two sketches show Buzz using his laser on Woody’s forehead from different POVs.

In frames on the walls are various Toy Story 5 character designs and digital paintings of settings. This wall highlights the creation of Smarty Pants and other toys, as well as highway and toy house settings.

Other displays show Hi-Tech Buzz Lightyear in a Ghillie Suite, Hi-Tech Edition Buzz Lightyear features, and “Man Down” Lighting Key artwork. Another wall is dedicated to Bonnie, Forky and Knifey, Jessie, Dolly, and Lilypad.

Blaze is featured on another group of displays—showing her riding a horse and standing in front of her home on the ranch.

A large piece of artwork shows what appears to be several Buzz Lightyears on a sandy beach somewhere with their boxes scattered about. Perhaps they fell off the truck behind them?
According to the film’s synopsis, Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and the rest of Bonnie’s toys will struggle with the growing role of technology in children’s lives as electronic devices begin competing with classic toys for attention.
The final trailer was just released.
