The Walt Disney Family Museum will celebrate Pride Month with a special event centered around Disney’s animated classic The Little Mermaid and the legacy of lyricist and producer Howard Ashman.

The upcoming event, presented in collaboration with Frameline, will feature a screening of The Little Mermaid alongside a conversation honoring Howard Ashman, whose work with composer Alan Menken helped shape many of the film’s iconic songs.

The evening will also include specialty beverages made with products from Equator Coffees and Griffo Distillery. Admission includes one espresso martini or a non-alcoholic drink option, as well as light snacks. Additional food and beverages will be available for purchase during the event.


The screening is limited to guests ages 21 and older, and valid government-issued identification will be required for entry.
The event is scheduled for Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. inside the Theater at the Walt Disney Family Museum. Tickets are priced at $15 for museum members and $25 for non-members.

Howard Ashman played a major role in Disney’s animation renaissance of the late 1980s and early 1990s, contributing lyrics and creative direction to films including The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin.
Disney has also started rolling out its 2026 Pride Collection at Walt Disney World, including a new rainbow Mickey keychain now available at Disney Springs, with more Pride-themed merchandise expected to arrive in the coming weeks.
