Ahead of the highly anticipated theatrical premiere next month, Disney has shared a brand-new original single for the upcoming live-action reimagining of Moana.
The new track, titled “Along The Way,” is written by Lin-Manuel Miranda. It features a powerhouse vocal collaboration performed by the original voice of Moana, Auliʻi Cravalho, alongside the live-action film’s stars: Catherine Lagaʻaia (Moana) and Dwayne Johnson (Maui). The release gives fans an exciting behind-the-scenes look at the musical evolution of the story as it transitions to live-action.

In Moana, Disney’s live-action reimagining of the Oscar-nominated animated movie, Moana answers the Ocean’s call and voyages beyond the reef of her island of Motunui with the infamous demigod Maui on a journey to restore prosperity to her people.
“Along The Way” joins a rich musical lineup for the film. Moana features original songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Opetaia Foaʻi, and Mark Mancina, alongside an original score composed by Mancina. This new single dropped hot on the heels of the final live-action ‘Moana’ trailer which gave fans an updated glimpse at the iconic hit “You’re Welcome” and a closer look at Maui’s moving tattoos.

The film arrives in theaters on July 10.
