Heat Indexes Into the 100s This Weekend in Orlando Area

Guests who are visiting the Orlando area this weekend, June 13 and 14, should be mindful of the high temperatures. According to meteorologists, the heat index could reach the 100-degree range.

Weekend Heat Indexes

Intense summer heat is not uncommon in Central Florida; however, heat indices in the 100s should not be taken lightly. According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the high for Saturday will be 94 with a heat index up to 102, and Sunday will have a similar high of 93. Though meteorologist Tony Mainolfi at WESH indicated similar heat indexes for Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the high for Saturday will be 94 with a heat index up to 102, and Sunday will have a similar high of 93. Though meteorologist Tony Mainolfi at WESH indicated similar heat indexes for Sunday.

Both days also have moderate chances for showers and thunderstorms. Per NWS, there is a 30% chance on Saturday during the day, which increases to 40% at night. Meanwhile, Sunday has a 60% chance of precipitation during the day, which stays the same at night.

As of writing, the high temperatures will continue in the low 90s at least through Tuesday, June 16.
