'Inspector Gadget' Live-Action Reboot Moving Forward With Will Ferrell in Talks to Star

According to DTVA News, Disney is moving forward with a new Inspector Gadget live-action film, possibly starring Will Ferrell.

The reboot has been in development since 2019. SNL writers Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell were attached to write the script. Sean Anders is attached as director.

Inspector Gadget originated with an animated TV series that ran from 1983 to 1985. It was produced by DIC Entertainment. WildBrain now owns the IP, but Disney has the film rights. Disney produced a 1999 live-action film starring Matthew Broderick and a 2003 sequel starring French Stewart.
