The 10th-anniversary celebration of Shanghai Disney Resort is officially underway, marked by a special “Ten Years of Magic” media sharing event, featuring a joint appearance of Josh D’Amaro and Bob Iger.
Josh D’Amaro Connects Past and Present
New Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro kicked off the executive portion of the presentation, taking center stage to address the media and reflect on a decade of growth in mainland China.
D’Amaro spoke in front of a massive digital backdrop of the Enchanted Storybook Castle illuminated by fireworks. During his address, he stood beside a giant projection of Walt Disney at his animation desk, connecting Walt’s foundational storytelling heritage to the innovation found at Shanghai Disneyland today.
Bob Iger Joins the Stage and Receives Top Honor
The energy in the room shifted as D’Amaro welcomed Bob Iger to the stage. Iger, who famously spearheaded the park’s development under the mantra “Authentically Disney, Distinctly Chinese,” shared his perspective on the resort’s massive success and collaborative partnership.
To close out their appearance, Iger was surprised with a prestigious gift honoring his decade-long dedication to the park. Iger was presented with a stunning, golden replica miniature of the golden peony finial that sits at the very top spire of the Enchanted Storybook Castle.
