Sam Eagle has whipped up two new America-inspired offerings for the country’s 250th birthday. Now available at Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue in EPCOT is the Sam Eagle Star-Spangled Shortcake and The 1776.
Regal Eagle is at The American Adventure pavilion.

Sam Eagle Star-Spangled Shortcake – $6.29
Vanilla Cake with Strawberries, Blackberries, Blueberries, Whipped Cream, Star Sprinkles, and a Sam Eagle Chocolate Coin

Regal Eagle presents this salute to all desserts but mostly berries. Although the vanilla cake tasted as it should, the berry to cake ratio seemed off. The amount of berries plus the whipped cream caused the cake to become mushy quickly.

We would have preferred this as a cobbler with ice cream. A harder crust may have withstood the toppings. However, the dish was adequate, especially if you are craving fruit.

The chocolate coin featuring Sam makes it an Instagrammable dish. But keep in mind, if you take it outside, you have about a minute and a half before it all starts melting.

The 1776 – $6.49
Blue Raspberry, Sprite, and Strawberry Fruit Juice-filled Pearls (non-alcoholic)

This is a colorful and refreshing drink — but not worth the price. The small size of the cup, combined with the amount of pearls and ice, did not allow enough room for the Sprite and blue raspberry. Consequently, you finish the drink with quite a few pearls still hanging around the bottom.
If you get this for kids, they will probably be disappointed by how quickly it disappears.
