The West Side Sassagoula River Cruise dock at Disney Springs never reopened following the COVID-19 closures. Yet we noticed that the dock itself was getting some refurbishment on our visit yesterday, June 16.
Dock Refurbishment

As you can see above, the roof appears to be in the process of getting replaced on the dock. We saw that it was entirely lined in plywood during our visit yesterday. The dock otherwise looks the same as it did when it was still being used.

There are also yellow turbidity curtains around the boat dock as well, which are floating barriers used during construction projects to keep debris from spreading into the surrounding waterway.

At Disney Springs, there is only one Sassagoula operating boat dock. The Marketplace Dock is the one that reopened in 2021 following the COVID-19 closures. Neither The Landing nor West Side Docks is in operation.
It’s unclear if this refurbishment indicates that the dock will soon be back in service or if it is just maintenance.
