Universal Orlando Resort hotel guests have a few extra reasons to linger around the resorts this summer with poolside activities, sand sculptures, and more.
Summer Fun at Universal Orlando
As part of Universal Orlando Resort’s summer celebration, all 11 Universal Orlando hotels are offering limited-time seasonal additions, including themed sand sculptures in each hotel lobby, special food and beverage items, select poolside activities, and an exclusive weekend character meet-and-greet opportunity for hotel guests.
The hotel offerings are available now through August 10, while select character meet-and-greets for hotel guests are scheduled through August 9.
Each Universal Orlando hotel lobby now features a sand sculpture inspired by a Universal film, character, or theme park experience. The sculptures weigh between 600 and 1,200 pounds and each took up to 10 hours to complete.
The themed displays are located at the following hotels:
- Universal Helios Grand Hotel — How to Train Your Dragon
- Loews Portofino Bay Hotel — Jaws
- Hard Rock Hotel — Ghostbusters
- Loews Royal Pacific Resort — Kung Fu Panda
- Loews Sapphire Falls Resort — Jaws
- Universal Aventura Hotel — Back to the Future
- Universal Stella Nova Resort — E.T.
- Universal Terra Luna Resort — Dark Universe
- Universal Cabana Bay Beach Resort — Shrek
- Universal Endless Summer Resort – Surfside Inn & Suites — Trolls
- Universal Endless Summer Resort – Dockside Inn & Suites — Shrek
Exclusive Offerings and Poolside Movies for Universal Guests
The hotels are also offering summer-inspired food and beverage items. Examples include the Mischief Mixer at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, made with vodka, lemon juice, pineapple juice, and grenadine, as well as fried funnel cake sticks at Universal Cabana Bay Beach Resort.
Guests staying at select Universal Orlando hotels can also enjoy Saturday night poolside activities beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The poolside programming includes a live DJ, games, giveaways, and other activities.
Universal Orlando hotel guests can also take advantage of an exclusive weekend character meet-and-greet inside Universal Studios Florida. The meet-and-greets are offered every Saturday and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Soundstage 5, located in Illumination’s Minion Land near Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast.
The character offering is in addition to existing Universal Orlando hotel benefits, which include Early Park Admission and complimentary transportation from select hotels.
Summer at Universal Orlando Resort
The hotel additions are part of the larger Summer at Universal Orlando celebration, which includes the return of the Universal Mega Movie Parade, CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular, and Hogwarts Always on select dates.
Universal Mega Movie Parade runs on select dates through August 23, featuring characters and moments from Universal films and franchises, including E.T., Trolls, Ghostbusters, and Jaws. CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular also runs on select nights through August 23 at Universal Studios Florida, while Hogwarts Always continues at Universal Islands of Adventure in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade.
