Guests were evacuated from Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon at Universal Studios Florida on Saturday, July 18.
Ride Evacuation
Guests on board the Jimmy Fallon-themed ride had to be evacuated due to a power outage. WESH 2 News received a statement from the Orlando Fire Department that 70 people were on board the air-conditioned ride in an upright position when the outage occurred.
Rider Shayden Leite, who was on the ride at the time of its stoppage, told the outlet that after the ride “jerked suddenly,” guests kept hearing the same message over and over. “It didn’t feel like things were being communicated in a well manner, it was just the same thing over and over again, like, ‘Hey, we’re gonna get it fixed ASAP,'” she told WESH 2 News. “Eventually it was, ‘Oh, the ride may continue at any moment,’ and then it turned into, ‘OK, we’re just gonna get you guys out of there.'”
No medical issues or complaints were reported.
A TikTok video posted by stephbuffamonte, indicated that guests were evacuated by the Orlando Fire Department using harnesses, safety ropes, and ladders.
