Universal Studios Japan, celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, is unleashing all kinds of autumnal events, including its 15th annual Halloween Horror Nights.
Universal Extreme Autumn ~Discover U!!!~

From September 10 to November 8, Universal Extreme: Autumn will be taking place at Universal Studios Japan. It gives the park a special kind of spooky autumnal overlay and overlaps with the after-hours Halloween Horror Nights Event.
Some of the attractions in the Halloween Horror Nights section below are part of daytime park hours at Universal Studios Japan, while others are night-time only and are noted below.

- Minion Beloween Greeting: Meet the Minions in their celebratory “Beloween” costumes.

- Trick or Treat: Say “Treat or treat!” to Lou, and you might get some candy!

- Jaws ~Red Alert~: The Jaws attraction turns bright red, and guests are sent into a deeper, darker abyss full of fog to experience the attraction anew. This attraction overlay goes from September 11, 2026 to January 31, 2027.

- Jurassic Park: The Ride – In the Dark: Similar to the Jaws attraction overlay, this one sends guests into a pitch-black version of Jurassic Park: The Ride. It runs September 11 through November 8.

- Hogwarts Castle Walk: The Hogwarts Castle Walk attraction will reopen for the season, allowing guests to wander the halls of Hogwarts. It runs September 1, 2026 through January 17, 2027.

- Super Nintendo World Meet and Greets (September 10, 2026 – January 11, 2027)
- Colorful Yoshi will make his first appearance to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Super Nintendo World.

- Power-Up Band TM Key Challenge ~Invincible 5th Anniversary Version for Everyone~: Celebrate the 5th anniversary of Super Nintendo World with a special power-up version of Bowser Jr.’s Final Battle from September 10, 2026 to January 11, 2027.
- Venue: Bowser Jr. Final Battle
Halloween Horror Nights

Starting September 11, Halloween Horror Nights is back at Universal Studios Japan. It is being billed as “an unprecedented, extreme horror experience” with street experiences and events inspired by horror games and anime series.
Some of the events that guests can look forward to include:

- Street Zombies: The largest number of zombies ever will appear in the streets. Guests will encounter hordes of zombies throughout the park.
- 6 p.m. to park close
- Venue: Park-wide

- Zombie de Dance/Special Show: This show will include songs like King Gnu’s “SO BAD” and a medley including Ado’s “Uta” and Sandaime J SOUL BROTHERS’ “Rat-tat-tat.” The final performance of the day includes “legendary songs from the past.”
- 6 p.m. to park close
- Venue: Park-wide

- Halloween Horror Night Academy ~ 15 Years of Screams: Will showcase 15 years’ worth of the event’s terrors.

- Venue: Gramercy Park

- Biohazard Requim The Dive: This new horror attraction is inspired by Resident Evil: Requim and the series, which began 30 years ago. It is set in the abandoned Renwood Hotel, where guests will encounter creatures from the original game. It will be open from September 11 to December 27.

- Sadako’s Curse ~Dark Horror Ride ~: After debuting in 2023, this attraction is making a return. Per the 2023 announcement, this attraction sets guests off in pitch darkness to escape a laboratory which has been plagued by Sadako’s curse. This attraction is open September 11, 2026 through January 4, 2027.

- Factory of Fear ~Zombie Tour of Despair~: Another returning attraction in which guests must escape from a factory that produces zombies. Check out our POV from last year’s event here.

- KATE PRESENTS “The Witch of No. 18 ~The Witch’s House Where You Play with Emotions~: This mysterious house invites you to “release your emotions” and is being done in collaboration with the makeup brand KATE. You must escape the house where four witches reside.

- Chainsaw Man The Chaos 4-D: The show takes over Cinema 4-D with an original storyline. Denji, Aki, Power, and Kobeni all appear. The four characters fight the Halloween Horror Nights Demon, who is leading an army of zombies. It premiered in 2024.

- Smileys Happy Halloween Greeting: This show, which premiered last year, features the mascot character Smiley whose life’s purpose is to scare his guests.

- Chainsaw Man × Hollywood Dream – The Ride ~IRIS OUT~ AND Zombie de Dance × Hollywood Dream – The Ride: Featuring “IRIS OUT” by Kenshi Yonezu, the theme song for the theatrical version of Chainsaw Man Reze Arc, and Zombie de Dance will have a special overlay for the event.

Special viewing area tickets and express passes will be available to purchase for Halloween Horror Nights on the Universal Studios Japan website starting July 14. Tickets for the special viewing area for Halloween Horror Nights Academy ~15 Years of Screams~ are ¥2,100.
