Bakari Introduced to Gorilla Troop, Viewing Area Closed at Disney's Animal Kingdom

The gorilla viewing area along Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail is currently closed at Disney’s Animal Kingdom as Bakari is introduced to his troop.

Trail Closed

The viewing area along the Exploration Trail is currently closed as Bakari gets acclimated to his new digs and his new family. A Cast Member told us today, July 23, that they are practicing touch between the girls of the troop and Bakari through a scrim. Bakari came to Animal Kingdom at the end of June from St. Louis.

Props Updated

Although the gorilla viewing area is currently closed, the rest of the Exploration Trail is open. That includes the Okapi area, which has some new signage. There is a new sign all about the Okapi titled "Hidden Herbivores" that talks about details of the animals.
