Guests were evacuated from Bourbon Steak and other areas of the hotel when the fire broke out on June 25, 2026. At the time, a Walt Disney World official released this statement:

Pictures make it seem the fire was much larger than it was, as the ventilation system is meant to push smoke outside. No damage to hotel and only in the restaurant.

The restaurant has been closed since then. The hotel is emailing guests with reservations at Bourbon Steak to inform them of the closure and help them book a reservation at one of their other restaurants. The email states the restaurant will be closed “for the foreseeable future while repairs are completed.”

This notice is posted on the Swan and Dolphin website:

Dear Guests: Please be advised that our Bourbon Steak restaurant is temporarily closed.

We invite you to join us at one of our other 22 outlets – including 5 signature restaurants: Celebrity Chef Todd English’s bluezoo; Il Mulino Trattoria; Kimonos, Amare or Rosa Mexicano for Coastal, Italian, Sushi, Mediterranean and Mexican cuisines.

Guests may also opt for enjoyable meals at our casual, quick stop or lounge venues.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Bourbon Steak soon!

The Bourbon Steak website also states the location is “Temporarily Closed — Reopening Soon!”

Currently, guests cannot book reservations until September 16, indicating the restaurant hopes to reopen then.

Bourbon Steak Orlando opened one year ago, replacing Shula’s Steak House. The menu includes shellfish, caviar, crab, and, of course, a variety of steak options.
