Walt Disney World is home to plenty of birds, but one bird of prey native to the area is taking the spotlight for Independence Day.
America’s National Bird at Disney Parks

Bald eagles have been spotted soaring and perching around Walt Disney World Resort. In a post fitting for the Fourth of July holiday, Animals at Disney, the official account of animal care, science, and conservation at the resort, highlighted some of the birds of prey spotted around Disney property.
The post notes that local bald eagles are frequent visitors to the resort, which serves as part of a larger connected network of natural habitats in Central Florida.

In one image, a bald eagle can be seen perched atop a bare tree trunk against a blue sky. Another photo shows an eagle tucked into what appears to be a nest, while a third captures several birds silhouetted on a dead tree at sunset.
The post was shared as Walt Disney World continues to celebrate Independence Day and the lead-up to America’s 250th anniversary in 2026.

While Walt Disney World is best known for its theme parks, hotels, and entertainment districts, the resort also includes large stretches of undeveloped land and waterways that support native wildlife, including America’s national bird.
Bald eagles are native to Florida and are commonly associated with large bodies of water, where they hunt for fish and build nests in tall trees. Their presence around Walt Disney World is a reminder that the resort sits within the diverse Central Florida ecosystem, which includes one of the most visited vacation destinations in the world.
