Disney Wish Returns to Port Within Hours of Leaving Due to Medical Emergency

The Disney Wish set sail out of Port Canaveral on Monday, July 27, but was back within hours, reportedly due to a medical emergency.

Reddit user scisurf8 said in r/dcl, “I am staying at a hotel right next to Terminal 3 at Port Canaveral for a few days before my upcoming cruise on the Fantasy, and the Wish has suddenly appeared at Terminal 3. I know it left Terminal 10 earlier today (at least I didn’t see it this afternoon), and it’s supposed to be on the way to Nassau. Does anybody know why it’s back?”

User muxi115 commented, “They had a medical emergency and had to turn back during the first dinner seating. Some friends are on it and they are skipping the stop in Nassau due to the emergency.”

The 4-Night Bahamian Cruise was scheduled for July 27 to 31 with a stop at Nassau before a visit to Disney Castaway Cay and a Day at Sea.

According to Cruise Mapper, the Wish has left Port Canaveral and is now heading back towards the Bahamas, turning today into an extra Day at Sea.

Guests who booked port excursions through Disney Cruise Line for Nassau will have them automatically refunded.

Reddit user Nurse5736 said almost the exact same thing happened on their Disney Treasure sailing: “We are currently on the Treasure and we had to turn back to port one hour after embarkation due to medical emergency. Hoping all passengers have a good outcome”.

The Treasure left Port Canaveral on July 25 for a 7-Night Western Caribbean Cruise and will return on August 1.
