Heat Advisory Issued for Central Florida for Second Day in a Row

East Central Florida, including Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort, will be under a Heat Advisory most of Friday, July 10.

Weather Warning for July 10

East Central Florida, including Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort, will be under a Heat Advisory most of Friday, July 10.

The Heat Advisory will be in effect from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. EDT for Orange and Osceola counties (where the theme parks are located), as well as Indian River, Martin, Saint Lucie, Volusia, Brevard, Lake, Okeechobee, and Seminole counties.

Heat index values — the “feels-like” temperature — will be up to 110°F. Like yesterday’s advisory, showers and lightning storms are also expected today with wind gusts of 40-55 mph and heavy rainfall.

The National Weather Service suggests guests and residents drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing.
