Hedges Surround Sleeping Beauty Castle Hub at Disneyland for Crowd Control

Hedges have gone up around flowerbed railings in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, apparently for crowd control.

The hedges are over six feet tall, blocking the view of the castle in certain areas beyond the central “Hub.” Cast Members we spoke to believe they are for crowd control and to discourage guests from standing on railings, which is a safety concern.

The hedges are likely temporary for the Fourth of July weekend. The holiday is always busy for Disney, but this year will probably be even more crowded as it’s America’s 250th Independence Day.

Disneyland will present “Disney’s Celebrate America! – A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” at 9:35 p.m. on July 3, 4, and 5. There will also be a patriotic cavalcade featuring Mickey and Minnie in new costumes.
