The fan-favorite coaster Seven Dwarfs Mine Train proved slightly more difficult to navigate without reacting than the open ocean for Catherine Laga’aia.

Moana Tackles the Mine Train

Disney Parks challenged the star of the live-action Moana to ride Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at Magic Kingdom while attempting not to react. Laga’aia agreed to participate with only some hesitation.

Before leaving the station, she predicted she would perform “really, really well.”

Her composure did not last long.

Laga’aia began laughing almost immediately after the mine train left the station, reacting to the ride’s swinging vehicle and early turns. Once outside, she briefly regained her confidence and declared, “This is light work.”

The actress also had trouble containing her enthusiasm inside the attraction’s diamond mine. She called the scene “so cute” and “the coolest thing ever” as the Seven Dwarfs Audio-Animatronics worked among the glowing gems. She also joined in with “It’s off to work we go” as the train prepared to leave the mine.

Despite insisting that one section was “chill,” Laga’aia laughed, shouted, and threw up her hands as the train accelerated through the latter portion of the coaster.

When asked to evaluate her performance at the end of the ride, Laga’aia nevertheless declared that she “did phenomenal.”

Laga’aia stars as Moana opposite Dwayne Johnson’s Maui in Disney’s live-action reimagining, which arrived in theaters on July 10. The film earned $43 million domestically and $95 million worldwide during its opening weekend. A recent report indicated that the $250 million production could ultimately lose Disney between $100 million and $125 million.
