The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is returning to San Diego Comic-Con ahead of its grand opening in Los Angeles later this year. There will be a museum preview panel hosted by Lucas Museum of Narrative Art Coming to San Diego Comic-Con with Museum Preview Panel Hosted by Keke Palmer, Seth Green, and more.
San Diego Comic-Con to Preview George Lucas’ New Museum

The museum announced that it will host a Hall H panel during San Diego Comic-Con 2026. Titled “Inside the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art.” The panel is scheduled for Thursday, July 23, at 4:45 p.m. PT.
According to the museum’s announcement, the panel will offer “a glimpse inside the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art.” The discussion is expected to preview upcoming museum content and film programming, while exploring the museum’s larger focus on visual storytelling.
Keke Palmer will moderate the discussion. Panelists include Seth Green and Matt Senreich of Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, DC President, Publisher, and Chief Creative Officer Jim Lee, and Ryan Linkof, Senior Curator and Head of Film Programs for the Lucas Museum.

The panel comes roughly two months before the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art opens to the public on September 22, 2026, in Los Angeles’ Exposition Park. The museum was co-founded by George Lucas and Mellody Hobson and is designed by Ma Yansong of MAD, with gardens designed by Mia Lehrer of Studio-MLA.
The museum’s permanent collection includes more than 40,000 works of narrative art. Its 35 galleries will span 100,000 square feet and feature comic art, children’s book illustration, science fiction illustration, murals, cinematic artifacts, movie posters, documentaries, and other works connected to visual storytelling.

The museum will also have a presence on the San Diego Comic-Con exhibit floor at booth #2913-G. Attendees will be able to shop new museum merchandise, including shirts, tote bags, pins, and other items.
An earlier panel was hosted at San Diego Comic-Con 2025 featuring George Lucas, Guillermo del Toro, Doug Chiang, and moderator Queen Latifah as they detailed the museum’s mission and shared an early look at its exhibits. That appearance notably marked Lucas’ first time attending San Diego Comic-Con, despite his primary residence in California and his decades-long standing as a pop culture icon.
Held in Hall H on July 27, 2025, the panel was titled “Sneak Peek of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art.” The discussion centered on the museum’s mission to elevate “narrative art” across forms including comics, illustration, murals, film design, digital art, and ancient visual storytelling.
Lucas described the museum as a “temple to the people’s art,” while del Toro framed it as a way to preserve and legitimize pop-culture and visual storytelling traditions. The panel also previewed parts of the museum’s collection, including comic art, Lucasfilm materials, and works by artists such as Jack Kirby and Norman Rockwell.
San Diego Comic-Con 2026 takes place from Wednesday, July 22, through Sunday, July 26, at the San Diego Convention Center. The museum itself will open to the public on September 22.
Brad Bird, another titan of filmmaking in Disney’s portfolio, will also be spotlighted in a panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.
