For the last several years, Disneyland has hosted a special cavalcade for its anniversary, and that tradition continues today for the park’s 71st birthday. This year, a birthday celebration version of the Disneyland 70th anniversary Celebrate Happy Cavalcade is running today.

Celebrate Happy Cavalcade – Disneyland’s 71st Birthday Celebration Edition

The Celebrate Happy Cavalcade – Disneyland’s Birthday Celebration Edition was presented today at 1:30 PM PT. Like in previous years, the cavalcade ran down Main Street, U.S.A. and made its way around the circle in front of the Main Street Railroad Station.

The cavalcade began with Duffy and Shellie May on their tricycle vehicles, wearing their Disneyland 70th anniversary costumes.

Following behind Duffy and Shellie May were two performers carrying a blue “Happy Birthday Disneyland” banner decorated with rainbow trim. Multicolored balloons were attached to the backs of the performers.

Next up was the cake float, which returns from last year’s birthday cavalcade. The only difference is that instead of a “70” cake topper, the cake had red, yellow, green, and blue ribbons decorating the top layer.

Following behind the cake was Max dressed in his 70th anniversary outfit as a troupe of performers in colorful costumes danced behind him.

Next up was the Disney Princess float with Moana, Pocahontas, Merida, and Aurora waving to the crowd. Balloons and “Happy Birthday” banners decorated the sides of the float.

The Dapper Dans made an appearance in their classic blue, red, purple, and orange pinstripe outfits, followed by the Disneyland Band in their usual blue-and-white uniforms.

More performers in colorful costumes decorated with large fabric diamonds danced for the crowd. Some performers had diamonds and streamers attached to their backs.

The final float in the cavalcade featured Chip, Dale, Donald, Goofy, Pluto, Mickey, and Minnie in their colorful 70th anniversary outfits for the cavalcade. Behind Mickey and Minnie on the top tier of the float is a balloon-covered banner that says, “Happy birthday.”

Miguel, Pinocchio, Geppetto, Peter Pan, and Aladdin followed on foot while waving colorful streamers.

The cavalcade concluded as two performers walked by holding a gold rope. Multicolored round and spiral balloons were attached to their backs.

Disneyland originally opened to the public on July 17, 1955. The currently running 70th anniversary celebration of the park will end on August 9, 2026.
