The newest Notice of Commencement for Piston Peak National Park at Magic Kingdom calls for construction at the former site of Aunt Polly’s on Tom Sawyer Island.

A wooden dock with a gazebo on Tom Sawyer Island extends over green water, with a yellow house and trees under a cloudy sky.

Once a quick-service restaurant and then an unused building, Aunt Polly’s was demolished in 2025 along with the rest of the island to make way for a new Cars-themed area. The Notice of Commencement filed by Walt Disney Imagineering on July 1 calls for “General construction” at the building’s former address of 4975C Caribbean Way.

The permit contracts Phillips (listed under its former name of Phillips & Jordan). The construction contractor’s expertise includes civil and power infrastructure. They probably won’t be constructing a major themed building but could be doing work related to Piston Peak’s planned river and water features.

Piston Peak National Park will include two attractions: an off-road rally race ride and a family-friendly attraction. It introduces a new original car character, Ranger J. Autobahn Woodlore, inspired by classic Disney cartoon character Ranger J. Audubon Woodlore.
