Smoking Walt Disney World Bus Leads to Road Closure

A Walt Disney World bus was seen with smoke rising from it on Monday night, July 20, leading to an evacuation and road closure.

Reddit user HippoOk663 shared photos and details of the incident in r/WaltDisneyWorld. The bus was stopped on the exit ramp from Osceola Parkway to Buena Vista Drive near Disney’s All-Star Resorts. At the time the user took their photos, the right lane was still open and drivers could turn left around the bus.

HippoOk663 wrote, “From what I saw, I think everyone got out of the bus okay and are safely on the side of the road.”

The exit later closed but reopened about two hours later after the bus was removed.

The bus is one of Disney’s extra-long articulated vehicles. It appears the smoke is from the engine and the white powder on the road is from fire suppression. The bus will likely be out of service for some time.
