Singapore’s resort island is preparing for a major transformation, and the Super Mario franchise is officially part of the coming changes.

Sentosa Development Corporation unveiled the next chapter of their Greater Sentosa Master Plan on July 3, outlining a long-term transformation for the islands of Sentosa and Pulau Brani over the next two decades.

As part of the announcement, the corporation noted that upcoming experiences at Resorts World Sentosa will include a Super Nintendo World area at Universal Studios Singapore.

Sentosa is Singapore’s resort island and home to Resorts World Sentosa, where Universal Studios Singapore is located. The Sentosa Development Corporation, a Singapore government statutory board, oversees the island’s development. The recently unveiled the Greater Sentosa Master Plan details a decades-long transformation that will integrate Sentosa with Brani and bring new attractions, hotels, beaches, transport upgrades, and entertainment offerings to the area.

Universal has not yet, however, officially announced an opening date, attraction lineup, or layout for the Singapore version of the land. The latest Greater Sentosa Master Plan materials place the project in the context of Resorts World Sentosa’s broader upcoming development pipeline, including a Waterfront Lifestyle Development scheduled for completion in 2030.

Still, the Greater Sentosa materials mark one of the clearest recent timeline updates for the project.

Super Nintendo World has already opened at Universal Studios Japan, Universal Studios Hollywood, and Universal Epic Universe. The Singapore version will bring the Nintendo-themed land to Universal Studios Singapore at Resorts World Sentosa.

The Greater Sentosa Master Plan will integrate Sentosa with the nearby island of Brani, formerly known as Pulau Brani, creating new space for hotels, attractions, and experiences while preserving Sentosa’s natural areas.

The transformation will be implemented progressively, with new developments expected to arrive beginning in the early 2030s, including Super Nintendo World.

Universal Studios Singapore currently consists of seven themed zones: Illumination’s Minion Land, Hollywood, New York, Sci-Fi City, Ancient Egypt, The Lost World, and Far Far Away. Super Nintendo World would naturally become a major new addition to the park’s lineup, following the recent debut of Minion Land.
